How Naigai approaches ODM and OEM
Naigai’s ODM aligns with our customers’ vision from the planning stage and covers design, prototyping, and mass production in a seamless process. Our role in ODM is to listen carefully to what each brand values and express its worldview through gloves as a product.
Through these ODM and OEM partnerships, Naigai has developed countless gloves together with brands worldwide.
In OEM, we go beyond simple contract manufacturing. Based on specifications (tech packs) provided by our customers, we review them as glove specialists from the perspectives of functionality, materials, and design.
Where needed, we propose redesigns and optimizations to bring each customer’s concept to life in the best possible form.
Why brands choose
Naigai as a partner
Proposals grounded in market and trend insight
We start by understanding each customer’s product concept accurately, then propose products informed by market conditions and trends. From functionality-driven innovation to design that reflects the times, we create new value that others cannot simply copy. Drawing on experience and data from glove development across sports, fashion, and many other categories, we plan products with commercial viability in mind.
Development and design that turn ideas into products
To turn a customer’s vision into a viable product, Naigai emphasizes development and design skills that translate ideas into paper patterns. A glove typically consists of around 15 parts; we design materials and structure according to intended use and required performance. These design decisions greatly affect fit, operability, and durability. With cross-functional collaboration, we maintain an integrated development system from sample making through mass production.
Size grading for
global markets
Naigai ships gloves to 48 countries worldwide and supports size ranges tailored to each region—Europe, the Americas, Asia, and beyond (S/M/L and cm-based sizing). Size grading, which directly affects how a glove feels on the hand, is a critical factor in product value. Staff who understand regional differences in hand shape—finger length, back-of-hand thickness, and more—design optimal sizing for each application and the fit each brand seeks. Through precise grading aligned with customer requirements, we help elevate product value.
Protecting each brand’s identity
We believe a key role in ODM is to understand each brand’s worldview and values correctly and reflect them in products without compromise. We carefully research trends, colors, and concepts across a brand’s footwear and apparel, then propose glove designs that harmonize with the overall identity. We pursue the “brand feel” that comes through in gloves and approach manufacturing as partners who enhance brand value.
Quality management to global standards
Naigai meets international standards for quality, environment, and occupational health and safety, and manufactures under our own internal management systems as well. Through these efforts, we maintain consistent quality while caring for working conditions and safety, practicing sustainable manufacturing. We will continue to uphold global standards in quality management and deliver products our customers can trust.
Material sourcing and logistics for stable supply
Specialized synthetic leathers used in gloves are among materials with limited suppliers. Naigai works with trusted partners in Japan and overseas to secure high-quality materials on an ongoing basis. We have also built a logistics network linked to production sites worldwide, supporting triangular trade that delivers products directly from local factories to international customers. By managing sourcing and shipping end to end, we achieve stable production and reliable delivery.
